Mastering is the final stage of music production before release.
It is the process of preparing your music for streaming platforms, radio, CD, vinyl, and other formats.
During mastering, I optimise the tonal balance, dynamics, stereo image, loudness, and overall consistency of your track while preserving the artistic vision of the mix.
The goal is to ensure your music translates well across all playback systems and meets modern industry standards.
Mixing focuses on balancing the individual elements within a song, such as vocals, drums, bass, guitars, and effects.
Mastering works on the final stereo mix and focuses on enhancing the overall sound, ensuring consistency, and preparing the track for distribution.
If your mix requires significant changes to individual instruments or vocals, mixing should be completed before mastering.
Yes.
Although I am particularly known for my work in Reggae, Dub and Dancehall, I regularly master music across many genres including:
Hip-Hop
Rap
RnB
Soul
Jazz
Pop
Indie
Electronic
EDM
Experimental
Cinematic
Every project is approached individually with respect for the artist's vision and genre requirements.
Yes.
Stem mastering allows me to work with grouped elements of your mix rather than a single stereo file. Typical stems include drums, bass, vocals, instruments, and effects.
Stem mastering provides greater control than traditional stereo mastering and can be useful when minor balance adjustments are needed without returning to the mix stage.

A common recommendation is around -6 dB of peak headroom, but this is not a strict requirement.
The most important thing is that your mix is not clipping and that limiting or excessive dynamic processing has not been applied to the master bus.
Most projects are completed within 2–5 working days.
Turnaround time depends on project size and current workload.
If you have a deadline, please mention it when requesting a quote and I will do my best to accommodate it.
Yes.
Client satisfaction is extremely important.
If adjustments are needed after receiving the master, revisions are included to ensure the final result aligns with your vision.
Yes.
The objective is not simply to make a track louder, but to achieve the right balance between loudness, clarity, dynamics and impact.
Every master is optimised to perform well across major streaming services while maintaining musicality and preserving the integrity of the mix.

AI mastering can be a useful tool for quick demos and reference versions, but it applies automated processing based on algorithms rather than understanding the artistic intent behind a song.
A professional mastering engineer brings critical listening, musical judgement, and years of experience to every project. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, each track is evaluated individually, taking into account the genre, arrangement, emotion, dynamics, and intended audience.
Mastering is not simply about making music louder. It is about making informed decisions that help a mix translate across different playback systems while preserving the character and vision of the artist.
Many clients choose professional mastering because they value human feedback, attention to detail, consistency across releases, and the ability to discuss creative goals with a real person throughout the process.
AI can process audio. A mastering engineer can interpret music.
